MANILA, Philippines — Work hours in the Senate will be shortened on Thursday, January 9 to make way for Traslacion 2025. 

In an advisory issued Wednesday, Senate Secretary Atty. Renato Bantug Jr. said Senate President Francis Escudero has instructed that work in the upper chamber on Thursday shall only be until 2 p.m.

Due to the Traslacion, some roads in Manila are closed and traffic is rerouted.

“Committee hearings, technical working group, and other meetings may proceed [or] continue. The assigned staff for said hearings [or] meetings shall continue to provide technical and administrative assistance until otherwise directed by the chairperson,” said Bantug.

“The office of the sergeant at arms and maintenance and general services bureau personnel who follow shifting schedule are not included in the shortened work hours,” he added.

The 2025 Traslacion will maintain the route from the previous year, taking the following streets:
